The Cocktailmaster was designed to make layered cocktails and as such its mechanism is based on fact that different liquids have different densities.

The higher the sugar content, the heavier the liquid.
The higher the alcohol content, the lighter the liquid.

If you want to change the relative densities of the liquids you are using, you just need to add sugar to increase density and add water (or alcohol) to reduce it.
